Perfectly Loved

Birthday wishes always touch a special part of our heart.  We never think beyond receivng of gifts, gettinga year older and who has remembered us on our birthday.  The real gift is the gift of life we were given the day we were born.  To look back on the years we have been living, it is amazement how we are given hands to do the work we do, whether it is healing as a nurse or doctor in the hospital, creating designs with a click of a mouse on our computer to sell or simply cooking and doing the dishes for our family.  Our hands that were given to us do the work that praises the Lord.  The eyes we were given let us see the beauty and wonders of the world and help us translate that into human communication and relationships.  Our minds reason and comprehend all around us, allowing us to grow and mature to become more fully human.  Finally, our hearts, given their first beat and many thousands of beats per minute thereafter, help us desire and love as He has loved us first.  How blessed we are when we celebrate our birthday to be reminded of these great gifts we are given that symbolize God’s love for us.  In return, we just need to love him back.  God needs a little opening, a crack in our hearts, for him to enter.  Once he enters into our hearts, we can begin to feel perfectly loved by him. (1 corinthians 13:4-13)

Bridging the Gap: Speaking a universal language

“God offers us three theological virtues: faith, hope, and love. These merge with the three treasures mentioned here of love, moderation, and humility. They thus become humble faith, hopeful moderation, and selfless love by which we are to live.

Perfectly Loved

1 corinthians 13:4-13

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; ]bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

A beautiful song that reminds us every single moment that we are perfectly loved, from the beginning until eternity.  We were made more than this human existence of living and consuming.  Life with God is like a dance.  Our mind, body, heart, and soul, when aligned with God’s will, create a beautiful dance that tells a story of our life, God’s creations, and God’s love for us.

Prayers

May God’s love find you in every corner of your life, whether it is in the mundane day-to-day grind of work, a hectic week of events and kids’ sports games, crying over a loved one who just passed away, or sitting quietly and enjoying a meal with friends and family.  May the Lord’s presence be with you always in the peaks and valleys of life.

To remember what we learned, we must always write it, share it and teach it to someone else, so it becomes concrete in us.

Journal Tips:

Capturing life’s peaks and valleys is necessary to grow spiritually in our walk of faith.  It is when we can see the entire viewpoint of our life as God sees it we can then notice small habits, decisions, and actions we do that can either lead us toward God’s loving arms or lead us astray and back two steps on our journey.

The passion of Jesus is a sea of sorrows, but it is also an ocean of love. Ask the Lord to teach you to fish in this ocean. Dive into its depths. No matter how deep you go, you will never reach the bottom.
