The greatest love a son or daughter can have is the love from his/her father. What makes a love from a father so different and great? It is simple yet powerful. Our father offers us Faith, Hope, and Love. He gives us convictions and sets the rules and examples to lead us in the right direction. When things get tough, he builds us up to have great faith in ourselves and our God-given gifts. Fathers give us hope that tomorrow will be a new and better day. No matter the struggles or hardships we go through, these little bumps and sacrifices are the battle scars shaping who we become. We are to be proud of these scars and show them off so others will have the same hope when faced with the same battle. Blood, sweat, and tears are the sacrifices needed to do what matters in life. There are no places for complacency or vague “ish” words, only a clear “Yes” or “No.” Fathers define a clear path for their children so that they will be secured and protected. The greatest gift fathers give to their children is love. Learning to love without fear, shame, or embarrassment propels us to be more generous, humble, and care with great depth on a larger scale. A father’s love has no comparison.
Our Lord, Jesus Christ, was a great example of what comes forth from a father’s love. Jesus exemplified faith, hope, and love. He followed his father’s plan and did his will. As a result, he was the perfect son. Father’s Day celebrates not only our fathers but our heavenly father. For in Him, we are forever saved and protected. Let the treasures of our hearts be three things. FAITH HOPE LOVE
